We seek God’s holy wisdom
‘midst the turmoil of this age
To grant us understanding
And to calm the endless rage
Seek his perfect counsel
As you go to him in prayer
Bring peace to all the nations
To the world his love declare

Be slow to rise in anger
Listen well before you speak
Treat all with deep compassion:
Poor and hurting, sick and weak.
God will teach us mercy
When we go to him in prayer
Live always his example:
Other’s burdens, help them bear

When you confront life’s trials,
Rest assured you will be blessed
The Crown of Life is promised
For all those who stand the test
God will grant us peace
When we go to him in prayer
In the still and quiet moments
Or in times of great despair

The good and wise among us,
We will show it by our deeds;
Humility and kindness
When attending others’ needs
God will teach us grace
When we go to him in prayer
Give hope and love and treasure
All his blessings, let us share

God’s great and perfect wisdom
Is both peaceful and sincere
No envy or ambition
And no boastfulness or fear
God will grant us wisdom
When we go to him in prayer
Share peace and grace and mercy
With God’s people everywhere
