About
If you want to read about faith and food, pinball machines and politics, music and public education and antique radios and philosophy…you’ve come to the right place.
I’m a Western North Carolinian by birth and choice. Half Estonian, the son of a World War II refugee. Former newspaper reporter, photographer, congressional aid, entrepreneur. I served on our local school board and currently sit on various boards and commissions dealing with public education and local government.
I smoke (pork, not cigarettes) and consider barbecue one of the major food groups. And I fix things, whatever is broken: juke boxes, pinball machines, gadgets and gizmos, organizations, ideas. It’s what drives me.
I’m also a writer, but so is everyone else these days. I needed somewhere to put my musings, hence the blog, the reason we’re both here. I hope you find something meaningful.
